However, scholar should be prepared to pivot to a virtual program model depending on COVID-19 related conditions. 2022 programming will be Site Partner-specific and generalized to primary care in free and charitable clinic settings. This program is open to graduate-level nursing and physician assistant students, and medical students in the DC or VA area who are poised to become leaders in primary care.ĭuring the Spring Semester, one BD PCLP Scholar will actively engage with a free and charitable clinic in leadership training, team-based project activities, and healthcare service delivery. Preference will be given to applicants who are conversationally fluent in Spanish. PCLP provides future healthcare professionals with an opportunity to experience the challenges and rewards of primary care practice in community health centers (CHCs) across the US.īecton Dickinson (BD) is supporting one (1) scholar during the 2022 Spring Semester in the Virginia, or Washington, DC area, to experience the challenges and rewards of primary care practice in a free and charitable clinic located in Washington, DC. In order to increase access to primary care for the underserved, the GE Foundation and National Medical Fellowships founded the Primary Care Leadership Program (PCLP) in 2012.
